It seemed like a minor adjustment. To comply with the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling that legalized gay marriage in 2003, the state Registry of Vital Records and Statistics said it needed to revise its birth certificate forms for babies born to same-sex couples. The box for “father” would be relabeled “father or second parent,’’ reflecting the new law.
But to then-Governor Mitt Romney, who opposed child-rearing by gay couples, the proposal symbolized unacceptable changes in traditional family structures.

How typical of the ways of the modern Republican Party. Mr. Romney and the vast majority of those in party leadership positions think same-sex couples are icky. Instead of complying with laws, that protect us ALL from such tyranny, they create rules to further their personal agenda. Punishing innocent children of same-sex couples serves no purpose and is, well, heartless.
This 9year old infomation is printed by the Globe a week and a half before the election. Is the Globe ever going to stop pimping for Obama.
Yeah, why would Mitt's record as governor be relevant, or anything, right? Why should we just take him at his word that he's a compassionate person, for example, and ignore his actual behavior in public office.
This is typical yellow journalism by the Globe! Romney did this, Romney did that. Why don't you tell us what time Romney took a dump this morning!
marsha41 aka all9 - I suspect the answer why they don't is because only you would care.

Show me in the constitution (state or federal) where it is written that 'every child has the right to a mother and a father.'
