Background: Former Virginia Congressman who switched from Democrat to Republican.

Gary Johnson, Libertarian, 59

Background: Former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico

Platform: Legalizing marijuana, pro-choice, same-sex marriage, balancing the federal budget, ending wars.

Jill Stein, Green, 62

Background: Physician from Lexington, Mass.; ran against Romney for governor in 2002.

Platform: Free public higher education, Medicare for all, same-sex marriage, abolish electoral college
