It's hard to pin down the man from Wenham. He likes to escape true public scrutiny. He prefers photo ops to fully explaining his views to the electorate. Following this game plan he jumped at the chance to be a no show at the debate tonight. He tried this with a previous debate. Remember, but got waylaid by the majority leader, Sen Reid. So what's left for voters to evaluate are his off the wall ads from himself, Karl Rove, and other very right wing groups. They attack Elizabeth Warren with all sorts of debunked bolongna. Will he stand up with some backbone and face his opponent with these false charges? Not a chance. What he calls independent is through and through wishy washiness tied to some very ethically challenged backers. Well the sun is out with clear skies. Will Scott Brown give Elizabeth Warren another ring or escape to the hinterlands where he can continue his vacuuous everyman role? It looks like he has chosen the latter.
Has there ever been a cheesier politician than Scott Brown? He almost makes that old camera hog Ray Flynn look classy by comparison. Scott's "disaster" tour is going to do absolutely nothing except soak up time and resources from the local's who will have to stop doing the real work that needs to be done while they babysit the visiting celebrity getting his photo-op.
Scotty will be real busy meeting with all those kings, queens and prime ministers after he puts on his camos in case there are cameras around. Heckuva job, Brownie...for an empty suit.
He's already running for governor. If he loses his Senate seat, that will be his next race, only two years away. We'vd elected several Republican governors in recent years, so he'll have a good chance and nobody will have to worry about Republican control of the Senate.
Brown is using the storm as a campaign prop. He loves "roll up his sleeves" and do the heavy lifting in front of the cameras. What a guy! Did he save some children? Let's get some little kids into that surf and I'll swim out there and save 'em. Gimme an axe...I'll chop that tree right there. I'll chop it. Where's my chainsaw? Let's get some wood chips flying up in this joint. I think my truck should handle some logs....I'm feelin' rugged - watch out. Where's my Skoal?
Sen. Brown is doing just what Obama is doing. They are carrying out the duties of their elective offices. Warren has NO role is assessing anything.
