WASHINGTON — The congressman introduced himself as Joe — just Joe. As the newly elected House members were herded from a group photo shoot on the Capitol steps to an orientation breakfast, he congratulated his new colleagues, asked about their previous jobs, their families, and tried to blend in.
But any aura of “average Joe” disappeared when the redheaded young man with the toothy smile and chiseled jaw was stopped by a Capitol visitor assistant.

and in six years he runs for senator.

because it's in his "DNA"
OMG, he reminds me of his grandfather.....I wish him all the best....wish he was my congressman
Amazing, simply amazing.
Wow. Someone mentioned the "gene pool".
Is there another group that produces as many degenerates as the "kennedy" line?
Addicts, Murders, Rapists....

If he wanted to blend in he should have changed his last name and ran on his experience....which he had none over a veteran, lawyer, familyman and Iraq vet....his experience is being a trust fund Kennedy and worked in the peace corp....put that up against the experience of Iraq.... What a disgrace....but then people are stupid...and vote....without thinking....what does he have to offer...nothing but the name...when has a Kennedy spent their own money...all taxpayers...they are takers just like those that vote for them....Mass. voted for a fraud, crook and a trust fund Kennedy trading on his name....if it was Smith...he wouldn't have gotten one vote.

Apocryphally ordained...and here to stay. God.
It is extraordinary that in a land of self-styled progressives, where the notion of a divine right of kings would be properly rejected, anyone named Kennedy automatically receives uncritical fealty by slavish press and a do-nothing Democrat political establishment.

I wouldn't swim in that gene pool
Gee... I am all agog with this spectral news, that another Kennedy has fund a way to feed at the congressional trough for life. But I do have a major worry: has the family institution left enough room for this latest Kennedy congressman to borrow the Hyannisport family estate once a year or so to offer the Boston press corps a party like his Uncle Teddy used to throw?

That's not why he won? What world are you living in Mr. McGovern?

McGovern's comment is an insult to voters and laughable. Jan, nice to see you following in the tradition of other Globe Kennedy serfs. I'm sure your journalism professors would be very proud. Next time make it front page...above the fold - it's the "Kennedy Way."
I'm gonna change my name to kennedy and run for senate. Why start at the lower levels? That's the ticket.
The voters in my district are an embarassment. Bad enough they sent Barney to Washington for 30 plus years allowing Barney to team with Dodd to ruin our economy. Frank and Dodd tried to right their wrongs with their overzealous Wall St reform bill that is further stifling our already depleted economy.
Now we send another Kennedy to Washington instead of Sean Bielat who is obviously the better candidate. Match up Sean's education and experience against Kennedy. Joe's father gave up his Congressional seat to run Citizen's Oil...yup, good old "Joe For Oil" running this so-called non-profit while he collects over $700,000.00 a year and his wife as "Director of Marketing" collects another $260,000.00 a year.
