Brown questions Markey’s residency

Senator Scott Brown today took on a possible opponent in a special election to succeed his colleague John F. Kerry, questioning whether US Representative Edward J. Markey is actually a resident of Massachusetts.

Markey later hit back, hinting at a reprise of the political nastiness that permeated Brown’s recent election battle against Democrat Elizabeth Warren.

And that ladies and gentlemen is a preview of the upcoming race.  The soon to be ex-Senator will run the same kind of Ferhnstromesque campaign that he did last fall and fail miserably.  Sniping and cheezy gotchas are not the stuff of an successful Senate campaign

How true.

there he goes again......the only thing he does know how to do is criticize others.

Brown is already ramping up with phony issues by questioning Markey's time spent in Mass. Just like Markey's wife, Brown's wife was also employed in the DC area. So what! These not-so-creative and phony issues attract the pea-brain voter. Brown lost to Warren because he didn't have enough of these queer thinking narrow minded voters. Brown's nativism and provincial approach to politics works well only when running for selectman in Wrentham, or anywhere else. Also, Brown forgot to mention his other available part-time job; passing papers in real estate sales. Massachusetts now has a senator-elect who is a nationally recognized legal scholar from Harvard Law School and not a real estate sales transaction lawyer. How could anyone be a Republican these days in this state? No wonder they're such a minority here.

Eloquently stated.

It does not take much googling to see that Rep Markey has held Town Hall Meetings with constituents on an almost monthly basis along with a strong local staff to deal wiith constituent concerns.  Sen Brown on the other hand when he was not campaigning hung out with his pals in major insurance companies, for profit health insurance campanies, hedge fund managers, especially over the summer in Nantucket.  As for actual Town Hall Meetings he was a no show.  So let him try this tack and he will witness the same fate as he did with Elizabeth Warren by displaying the nasty, petty side of his personality.  He could never successfully defend his voting record in the Senate so has to take the low road again to try to win.

Let's extend a loud, protracted war whoop to the departing Senator Snark. If Massachusetts voters send him back to the Senate in 2013, they deserve everything they get.

BTW -- What state's National Guard does the barncoated one serve in?

Not Massachusetts. He tranferred to be closer to Washington. The question is, will be return to the Massachusetts Guard. Does the Guard have a billet for him?

Does this mean that the GOP suddenly cares about residency? Bridgewater's state rep lives outside the district. Mitt Romney was little more than a tourist when he was governor, especially during the second half, and none of the Bushes are really Texans.

A much more important question is what the officeholders offer -- in services and in votes.

Scott a true MAN of his word.

Senator Scott Brown was adamant during his campaign last year.

He would not vote to raise taxes, he said repeatedly, even for the wealthy.

But Brown voted Tuesday for a plan that would increase taxes for households that earn more than $450,000.

Now that's a man of his word.

How about Markey's vow to limit his time on congress?  Or to lower our cable bills (remember that one)?

Scottie Yellow the coward is nothing but an empty suit. Since he is an idiot and wrong on all the important issues all he can try is character assassination. Go away Scottie. We are sick of you.

My God, this man is such an underhanded snake; He proved it over and over again in the previous race. And anyone who votes for him now is doing so for their own misguided reasons, not because he would be the right person for the job. Brown continues to expose himself for what he is: a sniping, self-promoter. He gets less acceptable at with every word he says.

As many others before me today have so well pointed out, with our outgoing, 2nd most bipartisan Senator, Scott Brown, the more things change, the more they stay the same. This early effort to deligitimize a 36 year serving Massachusetts Congressman, after attempting to deligitimize Elizabeth Warren (both her family heritage as well as her standing to practice law), is just another example of Brown's own appetite for the petty.  The empty vessel seems to be getting emptier

The man has no shame.

...and really bad advisors.

Say it ain't so, Scotty. How can we love you when you won't go away?

If some bad apples mess with any law or anyone Markey is the first to jump in front of a microphone and call for stricter laws on whatever incident happened. He does nothing unless it hits the 6 o'clock news. Brown accomplished more in his short time in the senate the Malarkey did over the last ten years.

I will say what I did on Facebook:  A few choice words:   Just keep letting Scott Brown talk and he will hang himself with his own knot. He cannot run on the issues and hence lost to Warren in part because she was an infinitely superior candidate AND because Brown made slurs against her re: her Indian background AND in doing so made trivial and tried to make humorous the Indian people with his war cry taunts. IT BACKFIRED BIG TIME. He is simply a BULLY.

Yet again he will take a trivial matter and question Markey over what residence??? Are you kidding me? Markey has been in the House ONLY since 1976! Give us a break. Brown you are hanging yourself again. GOOD I want to see you twist yet again in the wind and LOSE as significantly as I think you will. Brown, you will NEVER be elected to see the inside of congress again at least NOT from Massachusetts. Get used to it or move!

You said it. As he has in the past, he will float meaningless and untrue "rumors". Endlessly. No substance at all.  No actual issues, no mention of how having him in office will benefit us. I'm not looking forward to listening to all this crap again. ugh. The more he talks the more I dislike him.  I wish he would go away.
