For state’s first couple, fun became feet accompli

WASHINGTON – Four years ago, Governor Deval Patrick and his wife, Diane, thought they had finished their evening of post-inauguration parties around 1 a.m. Then, word came that they had been invited to the White House, to spend some time with the new president in his new home.

The governor, unable to contain his excitement, said he told his wife, “Guess what? We just got invited to the White House.”

Maybe Deeval telephoned Adrian Walker so he could get off his tired feet for a few minutes... poor baby. . . He tried to be efficient - getting in a Walker plug for his exorbitant  tax/fee/fare increase desires, an Adrian boost for his not-soon-enough legacy, and resting his tired feet.  And surely, Deeval got just a teensey, weensey boost to his most cherished pipedream - that the American people want him to take over the rent-free White House someday.

While Deval is dancing in Washington, the Massachusetts Child Advocate Office claims that 40 children died in 2011 while under the state’s watch, including five youths who were gunned down, seven who committed suicide and a dozen babies — some sleeping in an adult’s bed — who were deemed victims of sudden and unexpected infant deaths.
