National GOP chief wins 2d term

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Reince Priebus was reelected chairman of the Republican National Committee on Friday, overcoming divisions and tensions in the party as he pledged to remake and restore the Republican brand before the congressional elections next year and the presidential race in 2016.

He was elected with near unanimity to serve a second term at the helm of the Republican Party. He allayed concerns from some party officials and activists about the outcome of last year’s elections and sought reelection without serious opposition.

A dismal failure in 2012 and they chose him again?  This is the Tea baggers making the GOP irrelevant.

The whole process would be better off if Priebus would just leave the GOP and start something like the Trust Fund Babies Party. He could sign up Brownie to be his director of disasters and Connie Mack / Mary Bono to be events managers. This would leave the GOP with at least a chance of having someone who's actually interested in competent governing to get air and stage time.

Alas, as long as these people are the "leaders" and their strategy is to motivate the tea party hate-mongers to do their bidding the party is toast. We all end up with a country full of hate and millions of lost hours attempting to get even rudimentary services done, while a very small handful of self-congratulating richbich operatives spend their time at luxury resorts working on "political strategy."
