Conservative group runs ads against Chuck Hagel

NEW YORK — A new conservative group calling itself Americans for a Strong Defense and financed by anonymous donors is running advertisements urging Democratic senators in five states to vote against Chuck Hagel, President Obama’s nominee to be secretary of defense, saying he would make the United States ‘‘a weaker country.’’

Another freshly minted and anonymously backed organization, Use Your Mandate, which presents itself as a liberal gay rights group but purchases its television time through a prominent Republican firm, is attacking Hagel as ‘‘anti-gay,’’ “anti-woman,’’ and ‘‘anti-Israel’’ in ads and mailings.

I'm ready to dump Israel into the sea. What has it done for America lately except drag us into all its wars in the middle east?

Sheldon Adelson can go first. Boycott his casinos!

The opinion expressed by seaco is NOT shared by those of us who are very critical of the Likud foreign policy.  We would like to see a SHARED seacoast among Palestinians, Israelis, Egyptians and Lebanese. Our most fundamental criticism is that when Israel had the greatest preponderance of power, it did not use it in a prudent way to solve a mutual problem between Israel and Palestine.  Instead it tried to take over the West Bank and Gaza and drive out the indigenous population.  Things have gone downhill since then, making a good solution ever more difficult.  We can argue about the details (endlessly) but the problem with opinions like seaco’s is that it plays into then hands of Israel’s worst jingos.

"Americans for a strong defense." LOL, how about truth in advertising? "Zionists Looking to Spend Your Tax Dollar." Or how about "Moishe And His Vile Traitorous Brigade." There, better.

Ok, so we have a "grassroots group of Democrats and Independents" with anonymous donors, no phone number, no address, and no website, buying adds mirroring Republican talking points through a Republican media firm.  Can you say Astroturf?  I thought you could.

Sounds like BULLPUCKY to me.   These ads were placed by the same firm that handles the RGA, the GOP, McCain/Palin and Christine "I am not a witch" O'Donnell.
