WASHINGTON — John F. Kerry was sworn in as secretary of state by Associate Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan in a small, private ceremony in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee room Friday afternoon, officials said.
After 28 years of reviewing foreign policy in that same room and representing Massachusetts in the Senate, Kerry takes the reins as America’s top diplomat from outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The Bay State Democrat breezed through the Senate confirmation process this week, earning near-unanimous support for his appointment.

Well... well... so this is the way we start off the second most visible Obama cabinet member's tenure... a "small, private ceremony" on a friday afternoon before the small circulation Saturday newspapers and broadcast news media schedules. . . "Small, private" = for who? Some of the soup makers from Heinz 57? Or a few of the Beacon Hill Bostonians who love the Kerrys and the absence of a hydrant in fron tof their house? And surely, Glen Johnson, formerly the Boston Glob's resident Demohack and now a member of the distinguishing U.S. diplomatic mob? Maybe even the President and his Veep? And what about Mo - the nonpolitical esquire named by the Massachusetts 'governator' to act as a place holder for Reddy Eddy Markey or - yeah... fat chance - Iron-found Stevie Lynch? Sure, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, those adoers of Defense Secretary Noiminee Chuck Hagall . . oh yeah... what a bunch. . . And to think Barney Frank probably won't even be invited to the swearing in as a distant award for all those years of service that Mo Cowan is supposed to be able to carry out with just a couple of months of OJT . . . wonder who will hold the Bible for Kerry and who will utter the oath...
Mr. Boat, you're only making a fool of yourself.

JFK ("Just For Kerry") will fit in well among the sissies in striped pants at State. That he delivered himself of a 50-minute farewell address says it all about this most self-seeking of men. A bully, a coward, and a sneak.
