WASHINGTON — Kerry Kennedy placed a picture of her father, the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, on the lectern before speaking.
“It’s almost impossible to describe the pain of losing your father to a senseless murder,” she said, “or the anger and fear of knowing that that murder might have been avoided if only our leaders had acted to stop the violence.”

Is everyone numb to these indefensible, senseless murders?
I'm not, and I'll keep demanding that my legislators enact effective reforms. I don't know what's possible, but I can not support the status quo. How can you?
I respect your post, but I wonder where we are going to start. This young country has so much blood in its history. We seem to have a strange fascination with violence and our leaders would rather listen to a gun lobby than listen to my family weep for the constant killing of our leaders and neighbors.
Kerry Kennedy has my support and prayers. What a terrible way to lose a loved one, no matter if you support her family politically or not. We might be too late as a country. Just look at what we've lost. How can we prevent another madman with a bunker from exercising his right to bear arms? We can't.
