You can't reason with people who have given up their reason. The republican party is full of stupid ignorant people who think the world is 6,000 yrs old and governed by a carpenter who live over 2,000 yrs ago. These people should be removed from office ASAP. Perhaps impeachment is the only anwser.
This stuff can't continue! If you know any republicans tell them how you feel about their stupidity.
Do you really think the Democrats are any better? One party is as bad as the other. Open yours eyes (and mind).
Do you think our Tea Party and Republican friends from Crackerdumb (The South) have finally figured out just how much cutting the federal budget will cost them? Think of all those defense contracts and base closures...plus the agricultural subsidies!
People seem to forget these are the 'guys' they voted in. Democrat or Repulican, they are all bad. I won't have faith in any of them until they agree to give up their special 'benefits' and join Social Security and Medicare. It is all, don't do as I do, do as I say. Shame on them all and shame on us for allowing it to happen.
"sammie" Just so you don't spend your entire life not knowing the facts, please read the following.
The 1983 amendments to the Social Security Act required federal employees first hired after 1983 to participate in Social Security. These amendments also required all Members of Congress to participate in Social Security as of January 1, 1984, regardless of when they first entered Congress. Because the CSRS was not designed to coordinate with Social Security, Congress directed the development of a new retirement plan for federal workers. The result was the Federal Employees' Retirement System Act of 1986. Members of Congress receive retirement and health benefits under the same plans available to other federal employees.
Federal employees are covered under a combination of Social Security and 401k's with joint contributions from the govt. and the employee. Members of Congress have the same program and our vested after five years.
Now knowing this may not make you trust them anymore, but at least you'll have the facts straight and not rant on about "special benefits" that don't exist. That is simply an "urban myth".
From "whathehell": Let’s not go overboard. It’s just a 2% cut in proposed increased spending over a ten year span. If it goes through there will be no massive destructive effect, in fact it will force The Dear leader to make cuts in entitlement spending. If we can’t cut a mere two percent out of a base line budget over a ten year span, then we are doomed.
