Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein says she was escorted off Hofstra University on Monday afternoon as the campus prepared to host the first presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

In a series of Twitter posts, the Lexington physician said she was stopped by officials while on her way to an interview with MSNBC, and then was forced to leave the university’s campus.

Stein failed to reach the threshold of 15 percent in polls required by the debate commission to participate in the televised faceoff between candidates.
