‘One of our attorneys is a Jew,’ says Roy Moore’s wife

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The wife of US Senate candidate Roy Moore has defended her husband against accusations of bigotry, saying that that one of their attorneys ‘‘is a Jew.’’

Kayla Moore made the comment Monday night at a rally for her husband in rural Alabama.

Kayla Moore said ‘‘fake news’’ reports had falsely accused her husband of being against women in office, and black and Jewish people.

Said Kayla Moore: “One of our attorneys is a Jew. We have very close friends who are Jewish and rabbis.’’
