In diplomacy, as in politics, there are plenty of cases in which a world leader has been caught unaware on a “hot’’ microphone. There have been fewer, if any, in which that leader has been caught calling another an outright liar. French President Nicolas Sarkozy takes the prize. Sarkozy, in Cannes for the G-20 summit last week, believed he was speaking privately with President Obama when he reportedly described how frustrating he finds Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Staged... they did the same BS trick with Jesse Jackson during the campaign... Obama is upset because Netty is going to have the American Jews vote against him...
Sarkozy was just stating the obvious. A couple of months ago, Germany's Angela Merkel said pretty much the same thing. Except for its minion, the United States, Israel has earned the entire world's disrespect. That disrespect and distrust has been growing for many years, primarily because of Israel's continued disregard for international law and the Occupation. Netanyahu, together with that buffoon Lieberman--has drastically accelerated the decline in world opinion about Israel. If one reads the international press--as opposed to the traditionally pro-Israel US media--one would come to the inescapable conclusion that Netanyahu is indeed a pathological liar. It seems that he and Ahmadinejad were cut from the same cloth.
