US should begin air attacks on Assad’s troops, McCain says

Presses Obama to lead Syrian neighbors in effort

Sen. John McCain on Monday became the first senator to call for airstrikes against Syria, saying President Obama has taken too soft a stand against President Bashar Assad and his brutal crackdown on his own people. The Arizona Republican said the Syrian government’s slaughter of unarmed civilians has likely resulted in war crimes. In a speech from the Senate floor, McCain said the United States has a moral and strategic obligation to force out Assad and his loyalists.

Here we go again. And who is arming the rebels? This is farce and propaganda. I might even get behind it if it wasn't such a blatant attempt to tell people what to think, bolstered by half-truths, lies and propaganda. Really trying hard to care about Syria ~~ nope, can't do it. I know that we're being told to care about it, but bs is bs and I can't abide it.

Watching from afar day after day a brutal regime kill its people with impunity, so that it may stay in power, makes an accomplice of us all. History will not be kind. Senator McCain is right. The World has sat this out too long. The time to act on Syria is now -- and we may be too late already.

I like McCain --- but he is a One Trick Pony.

"McCain said the United States has a moral and strategic obligation to force out Assad and his loyalists." Well McCain knows of course that this is what the United States has of course been doing in secret for God knows how many years now so why not indeed come right out in the open now and finish it off in broad daylight. And while you're about it, if morality is an issue, how about also forcing Israel to stop its totalitarian oppression of the Palestinian people through ongoing war crimes instead of propping it up? The current Israeli government IS very similar to apartheid South Africa. Why the whole world should live in fear because a small percentage of the human population identify themselves with this murderous government would be a cosmic joke if it wasn't so serious. There are many Jews who are spiritual (i.e. feel connected to humanity as a whole and to a spiritual God) - they do not identify with this racist regime of the current day who identify with nobody except their own small group. America stop the hyprocrisy. Do not support an evil regime.

Senator McCain should keep his war mongering ideas to himself. Maybe a trip through tornado ravaged states will bring him back to reality. Worry about dying Americans before you kill people in Syria!
