6 British soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Six British soldiers were killed when their armored vehicle struck an explosive device in southern Afghanistan, the British government announced Wednesday, in the deadliest attack on British forces in six years. The blast occurred late Tuesday in the Gereshk district of Helmand province when the soldiers were on patrol in an armored vehicle, said Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Mackenzie, the spokesman for Task Force Helmand.
