EU warns Israel to back off West Bank

BRUSSELS — The European Union warned Israel of unspecified consequences Monday if it goes through with plans to build thousands of new settler homes in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

The bloc’s 27 foreign ministers said they were deeply dismayed by Israeli plans to expand settlements in East Jerusalem and particularly the E1 project, which would separate the West Bank from East Jerusalem, the Palestinians’ hoped-for capital, and drive a big wedge between the northern and southern flanks of the West Bank.

Comments

Many EU nations have large Muslim minorities and depend on oil imports from the Middle East.  Is it shocking that the EU adopts the propaganda line of the Palestinians?  The truth is that building apartments for Jewish families on the outskirts of Jerusalem is not the obstacle to peace in the region.  The Israelis are ready to accept creation of a Palestinian state if Iran and the Arabs cease their efforts to destroy Israel and accept the permanent existence of a tiny homeland for the Jewish people.

The world community is getting sick of the situation. Israel is always innocent. Fact is it takes two, as every parent with two kids pointing at each other knows. Israel plays its part in this dispute also. Thisa could turn into a WWI situiation where alliances could sweep everyone towards WW3. No time to be playing games with land.
