North Korea conducts its third nuclear test

PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — Defying UN warnings, North Korea on Tuesday conducted its third nuclear test in the remote, snowy northeast, taking a crucial step toward its goal of building a bomb small enough to be fitted on a missile capable of striking the United States.

North Korea said the atomic test was merely its ‘‘first response’’ to what it called US threats, and said it will continue with unspecified ‘‘second and third measures of greater intensity’’ if Washington maintains its hostility.

Great Job, Hillary!

Didn't the foodstamp president promise to make everything better?

"this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth"?

But wait, look at our relations with Iran....oh nevermind.

Quick send them more  food - appeasement always works.

And hugs, don't forget the hugs.

Diplomacy will never work with this regime so let them continue to build & test their weapons while simultaneously alienating their staunchest support, China.  While they're at it they can endanger the ROW beyond their borders by selling whatever manner of hardware and technology on the black market or trading it for commodities with other Despots.  Roll all of that up and add the fact that I'm sure the installation of John Kerry as Hillary's successor is making them shake in their boots (not).  I vote that just for a day, we give Dick Cheney the keys to the White House and pretend to look the other way.  I'd sleep just fine that night.

North Korea has been an enemy for more than 50 years but this is Obama's fault?  So...Reagan and the two Bushes did exactly what to North Korea when they were in charge?  Yeah...I thought so!  You cannot negotiate with crazy...please see the neocons and the Tea Party!  Cheers!

You're right.  They have been a mild adversary for decades but they were a relatively quiet one who really just vexed South Korea on a daily basis.  Prior to the recent events in N.Korea they were pretty much just a sleeping punchline to most of the world.  Now however they need to be taken seriously but not so much as we need to negotiate anything with them.  I have no doubt their nuclear program is real but likely almost entirely inorganic.  They simply lacked the infrastructure on many fronts.  All countries need to watch how N. Korea responds to China.  That alone will be the telltale sign of just how crazy the chubby little dictator and his cabinet really is.

This is gonna be a huge problem.  If those nutcases fire off a nuke, and we retaliate, it will contribute to Global Warming!  Then what will Al Gore do?  Oh my!

Time to sic the global warming nutjobs on the North Koreans, that oughta be interesting.

Is there any way we could start a war between North Korea and Iran.

That would be awesome.  It would start with unintelligible threats and end with two dictators slap-fighting on YouTube since neither country can accurately deliver anything other than an empty threat.
