30 refugees from Myanmar die in Thai fire

BANGKOK (AP) — About 30 Myanmar refugees are believed to have died in a fire at a camp in Thailand.

Mae Hong Son Gov. Naramol Palawat said the fire Friday destroyed about 100 shacks at the Ban Mae Surin refugee camp. She said the blaze is believed to have been started by a cooking accident. Those who lost their shelters are being temporarily housed in tents.
