Key events in Egypt since 2011 revolution

CAIRO — Egypt’s military-backed interim president dissolved the Islamist-dominated upper house of parliament Friday as supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi took the streets by the tens of thousands, demanding his return. Clashes between pro- and anti-Morsi groups in Cairo and Alexandria, and violence elsewhere in Egypt killed at least 30.

The unrest comes after the military earlier this week deposed Morsi, an Islamist, following several days of mass demonstrations against him.
