    3d suspect is arrested in Mumbai gang rape


    MUMBAI — Mumbai police said Saturday that they arrested a third suspect in the gang rape of a photojournalist who was attacked this week while on assignment. The 22-year-old woman was assaulted by five men Thursday in Shakti Mills, an abandoned textile mill compound, where she was taking photographs for an English-language magazine.     Helicopter plunges into sea, killing 4

    LONDON — Four people died after a helicopter carrying 18 from an offshore oil platform crashed into the North Sea off Scotland, police said Saturday. The Eurocopter Super Puma helicopter ditched into the sea about 2 miles from Sumburgh airport in Shetland on Friday. It was carrying 16 passengers and two crew members. (AP)

    Extremists kill 44 in attack on village


    MAIDUGURI — An official said suspected Islamist extremists killed at least 44 villagers in continuing attacks in an Islamic uprising in northeast Nigeria. The official of the National Emergency Management Agency said the attackers hit Dumba village in Borno state before dawn Tuesday and slit their victims’ throats. (AP)
