Iraqis inspect the site of bombing attack near a Shiite mosque in eastern Baghdad.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi officials say multiple bombs have exploded in quick succession in Baghdad, killing at least 22.

The apparently coordinated string of attacks, mostly involving car bombs, struck mainly commercial areas across the Iraqi capital Monday evening.

Police reported casualties from at least seven explosions in six different neighborhoods, though at least one other blast could be felt in the center of the Iraqi capital.

In addition to the dead, police reported at least 67 wounded. Hospital officials confirmed the casualties. The authorities spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to brief reporters.
