Blows of disrespect unfairly pelted Frazier

Hunching his head down like a drill bit, Joe Frazier burrowed into the chests of his opponents until all you could see were flailing arms. Compared to the taller and more lithe Muhammad Ali, Frazier was a stout, bobbing piston. No stylist was he, but with the passage of time, and now his death this week at the age of 67, Frazier’s style proved far more metaphoric of his time than he was ever given credit for.
