Online classes cut costs and human contact

In a blow to the old, “Mr. Chips” teaching model, a new study shows that online education works as well as in-class learning. According to a report done by Ithaka S+R, a non-profit think tank, students taking an on-line introductory statistics course did just as well as those who took it the old school way. It’s good news for those who want to lower higher education costs, and open up new revenue streams. It’s even better news for people who dislike interacting with other humans.
