oh my, an actual question to a member of the status woe from mr. lehigh. these electoids at city hall and the state house wouldn't know CANDOR if it reached up and bit em on the butt. course they're helped along by some less tahn tepid journalists with an aversion to asking the tough questions that deserve and demand answers. next question. to americas mosrt beloved mayor and the president of the always intrepid and gutless boston city council. guys, why are you so afraid of having a city wide referendum on the casino issue? mr. murphy, you were quoted in the tabloid as saying" that the casino issue will receive a thorough vetting from the council. when sir was the last time the taxpayers of the city received a thorough anything from the council other than a total hose job? or the ist time and lastly, what exactly do you and your other 12 colleagues besides doing and saying squat do to earn your gelt plus beenies plus staff? ma
Excelent article, Scot.
Mr Murray has no political prospects.
These occasional demonstrations of even-handedness by the Globe are comforting. Well done, Scot.
Mr. Murry is a goner. There is no reputation to restore. The miraculous SUV rollover incident was the fatal wound and proximate cause of death. The McLaughlin affair is merely the underlying, chronic disease.
Hi Guys, Thanks for the notes. An alert reader writes to say: I think I may have found two typographical errors in the piece that I wanted to bring to your attention because they could confuse the reader. The first error is in the second sentence of paragraph five. I believe you may have intended to say did not know, rather than did know. The second error is in the first sentence of paragraph eleven. I believe you may have intended to refer to Murray, not Murphy. She's correct on both counts. Funny thing about trying to edit/proofread your own work: You tend read what you intended it to say, not what it actually does. Sorry for the mistakes. Scot
He's a goner. Let's hope he doesn't waste our time and show his hubris by running for governor. There are too many unsullied and more trustworthy people waiting in the wings.
As career-ending scandals go, this is pretty tame and victimless. It's too bad that a basically decent and humble guy got swept up in the nonstop fundraising that passes for politics today. Lying about it was not smart, but compared to what else goes on in the State house every day, I really think this is being overblown.
Lehigh forgot to mention that the guy Howie Carr calls "Crash" Murray is also just about the designed "heir apparent" of the guy named Deeval who occupies space in the State House corner office. Will Deeval let Murray dangle in the web of his own making, or go to bat for the guy Deeval wants so insincerely to take over when Deeval goes on the national political stage as a very close adjunct to the soon-to-be (he hopes) re-annointed Barry the O. What a reach... from Worcester's little city thrice mayor to the Massachusetts state chief space occupier to the U.S. oft-announced commander-in-chief, assassin-in-chief, and chief executive... aka President. The American nightmare come true!!
Sorry Ninjat... what you deem 'pretty tame and vicimless' is corruption at the highest levels of the state government... And it goes far beyond lying... Wake up, laddie, and stop thimking like just another left-leaning hack
