The end is near for public-sector unions

Labor groups pushing for the recall of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker gave the public a good hard look at what government unionism inevitably descends to. Far from convincing voters that collective bargaining in the public sector must be sacrosanct, they persuaded many of them of the opposite. The past 16 months amounted to an extended seminar on the danger of combining collective bargaining with government jobs. Voters watched — and learned — and the future of public-employee unions no longer seems assured.
