Barack Obama didn’t soar above the clouds Thursday night. His acceptance speech wasn’t the magic carpet ride he offered as a candidate in 2008.
Instead, it was an address that lived in the real world of limitations and frustrations, one less about hyping hope that acknowledging disappointment.

The clear way forward is to get the Republicans in Congress to start putting country over politics. We need Obama, and we need a Congress that will work with him!
Agreed on your first point, and I would add that, if Romney is elected, tit-for-tat by Democrats will be just as wrong, no matter how strongly provoked. On your second point, we need a President who will both lead and stand on principle, even if that principle is doomed to defeat, and we need a Congress who will focus on 'good legislating' rather than 'gotcha' policies as we have seen in the recent past.

When we compare basic values of the candidates, Obama is the way to go. Even if line by line policies are not brought forward (by either candidate)GOP dogma, "I got mine, to hell with you" can never lead anywhere for the success of the nation.
