In Brown-Warren race, character or caricature?

In this year’s hotly contested Senate race, Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren are both striving to define themselves - and their opponent - in stark terms. But as the accusations fly, voters are forced to parse what’s revealing and what’s rehtoric. View a larger size of the complete cartoon, or the panels broken down individually for easier reading.

Brown "exposed" with few but brilliantly chosen words and images. Elizabeth Warren will CONTINUE to stand for working people. Brown is owned by Wall St.& his Corporate Sponsors. Voters, cast your ballot with your health care, women's rights, Social Security and Medicare in mind.....Elizabeth Warren may not drive a truck, but she is fearless and persistent in her beliefs.

The Brown - Warren race has evolved to become a nauseating example of everything that is wrong with the contemporary political process.  Long on symbolism, short on substance.  Negative campaigning almost to the exclusion of mature, intelligent expression personal positions and goals.  This has left at least one voter wishing for a "none of the above", because they both have behaved very poorly.  Couple that poor behavior with the negative spin piled on by their opponent, and it is easy to become entirely disenchanted with either one of them.  Meanwhile, thank heaven for the mute button on the television.  That button may be worn out by the election.  And I'm sure that the Post Office has been glad to help an ailing bottom line with mailings from the campaigns.  Never mind that everything that comes through wastes trees, is substance-free poppycock, and ends up in the recycling bin seconds after arrival.  Warren has beaten to death Brown's voting record.  She fails to acknowledge nuances in any legislation.  Framing the votes as hostility towards women insults the voter's intelligence.  And, frankly, it would appear to insult Brown's intelligence.  It is a sure bet that she, too, will be on one side or the other of future legislation because of nuances.  Meanwhile, Brown is going after equally dehydrated portrayals of Warren's positions.  Are there any intelligent, mature adults, with a balanced approach to politics, who would care to be Senator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts?

What a childish waste of paper: Complete trash, only to be used for lining the litter box.

On the previous page we read that Common Cause have placed a non-binding question on the ballot seeking support for a federal consitutional amendment affirming that corporations do not have the same consititutional rights as human beings.

What about the 'free ride' the Unions have had for years by using their membership dollars to support Democrat candidates?

What about the Boston Globe who opperates in the same manner as the Unions, with both their Editorial writers and their columnists doing business under the guise of having the same consititutional rights as human beings.

The Boston Globe comes very close to slanderous Editorial Opinions with the same rhetoric as their staff writers. The kind of disgusting comments that ought to be erased before print.

Where is the caricature showing Warren asking .... No demanding that Brown releasing more tax returns until she realizes that he's actually released six years of returns and she's only released two years worth of returns?

I thought it was funny, as was intended. I laughed several times.

I feel really sorry for those on the right who have no sense of humor. I already knew that, but the comments here underline that and makes me a little sad.

Lighten up once in a while. Your whole lives don't have to be about moaning and hating. Smile! Do it right now! You'll feel better for it.
