JOANNA WEISS

I want to thank everybody I’ve ever met

I won! I won! And here I am, up here, looking down at all of you, and I’m so nervous! It’s terrifying to be adored during award season! I just don’t know what to say!

Luckily, I prepared this acceptance speech.

Oh, Ms. Weiss, my sentiments exactly! Don't know why we're so drawn to these awards shows (and I am as guilty as the next person), but your send-up is spot-on! Thanks for the laugh to start my Tuesday morning. Just terrific!

Thank you oh so very much!  I could just speed read through it, and now I do not have to watch any of it to get my yearly dose of drivel!

I'm always amazed that people who make a living memorizing pages of lines can't deliver a coherent speech, and the ones who can sound like those pretentious theatre kids you wanted to punch out in high school.

These entertainers, or court jesters, take your pick, get more awards than a North Korean General. My take is that people who actually accomplish something for society are usually unknown.

Wow.  I never expected Ms. Weiss to phone one in.  Is this an epidemic on the rise at the Globe?  Awards ceremonies are all about "glory, laud, and honor."  Thank you.  Got it.

Is the any industry that is better at congratulating itself than the entertainment industry? It's endless.

To my friends, whom I allowed to watch me practice my craft,  ......

Wow, thanks. "Whom" is coming back, the objective case of "who."
