Obama’s more perfect union

Monday’s inauguration was not the first time Barack Obama referenced the 1969 Stonewall riots that sparked the gay rights revolution. He cited Stonewall in Gay Pride Month proclamations as senator in 2007 and as president in 2009.

Obama changes his mind and we say he evolved. Everybody else flip flops.

I guess then it is better to _stay_ wrong when you are wrong?  Check out the graphic: it really does show evolution on this issue, not an overnight change for the sake of some votes.

All well and good.

However, none of this will matter if we don't do something about the debt.

Obama's more perfect UNION includes the second year of 3 Senate "Recess" appointments to the National Relations Labor Board. All 3 appointments were completely partisan pro UNION. They forced Boeing (which is getting into financial difficulties now) to abandon plans to build a new aircraft plant in right to work state SC..Now Obama's "Perfect Union" of recess appointments has been ruled Unconstitutional....It also includes his support for the UNION thugs who protested against Wisconsin's new law that makes public employee union dues optional. ..Obama's more perfect UNION includes as many public employee UNION members as possible, whose pay is 50% greater than comparable private sector workers. E.G. in MA, the MBTA UNION menbers.

Or Iran, or n. Korea, or Congress

Pure drivel.  The slowest economic recovery in history, and we should be interested in the prez's vicissitudes concerning gay marriage rights?

I do compliment Mr. Jackson on his efforts in finding something positive to write about Fearless Leader, the list is getting shorter by the day.  Good thing Hilly has come along, Woman of the Century!  Of course, that is only because the century is still young, unlike Hilly.

So, we are now to cast obama's first term as a credit to his "personal growth and courage in having seen the light?" Yet other presidents' terms are defined by their failures (as defined by Mr. Jackson) rather than their acknowledged successes.

Construct an honest playing field, Mr. Jackson, this president's term(s) actions should justifiably be summed up as personally-determined justice, accomplished by, at the least, UNconstitutional means.

boy, you seem to have the aperture turned down to zero in this comment, letting no light at all through. Unconstitutional? Why do you righties like to toss this term around so much when all it does is show your ignorance?

Obama, all talk, no substance!

I'm calling on Congress to continue down the path of earmark reform. Democrats and Republicans, you've trimmed some of this spending, you've embraced some meaningful change. But restoring the public trust demands more. For example, some members of Congress post some earmark requests online.  Tonight, I'm calling on Congress to publish all earmark requests on a single Web site before there's a vote, so that the American people can see how their money is being spent.   Source: 2010 State of the Union Address , Jan 27, 2010

Gee, you're right on subject! Cann't you at least find an appropriate article to post your rants on?

I think the Globe should just disable the comments on this website. All it does is invite crazed ideologues to spew ignorance.

Great column. Ignore the homophobic comments below and keep on keepin' on, Mr Jackson.
