The Super Bowl ads are big business. Advertisers spent close to $4 million for each half-minute chance to catch our attention, and cleverly used social media to develop significant advance publicity by creating teaser ads. This was rewarded with news coverage that reached audiences far beyond football enthusiasts.

Too bad they wouldn't have shown the Super Bowl ads over & over & over . . . during 1/2 time, rather than the gyrating, shaking, screaming, and yelling Beyonce! Dressed in leather & lace - what garbage.
Lighten up Lauren.

You're spot on!! We need more champions like you pointing out the many reasons why hit the glass ceiling and are uninvited to join corporate boards - regardless of their experience, education, talent, skills and knowledge. The gender gap is exacerbated by images we see every day and have a real impact when billions of viewers watch. Thank you Lauren!
The real reason women are not invited to join corporate boards is that men do not feel like being feminized any more than they already have been. Remember, at that level we are talking about alpha males, not sniveling "yes dear" types.
Whine, snivel, complain and gripe. Do you really believe that most people do not see through the not so subliminal messages of these commercials?
The computer geek/hot chic Go Daddy commercial? You really think there was anyone who did not see right through it? Oh wait, we all must be infinitely stupider than you are! Thank you very much for the insult.
Laura, get a life. Only you saw the Audi ad as dangerous driving and an uninvited kiss.
Lighten up, Mrs. Rikleen. You sound like a one-issue lifestyle nag.
And one other thing Mrs. Rikleen: However offensive some of the ads may have been to some women, they paled in comparison to how offensive the grotesquely slutty and talentless half-time show should have been to all women.
I used to find these ads mildly amusing - obviously sexist, but still kind of fun. But having daughters made me seriously rethink this, and now I can't even watch these without feeling a sense of anger and disgust. We can do better than this stupid pandering...
The Audi ad was cute. But out of the room when the Hardey's ad showed? I didn't mind watching it, as a male, but it wasn't appropriate for my granddaughters.
