‘Chronicle’: Connecting New England

Over the years, WCVB-TV’s “Chronicle,’’ which recently turned 30, has become such a trove of local culture that it’s worthy of celebration on, well, “Chronicle’’ itself. The show is one of the very few locally produced TV magazines remaining in any market, a throwback to the era when local anchors put down real community roots and local programming carried real cachet.
