Solyndra shouldn’t cast shadow over bigger clean-energy push

The GOP-led attack on federal clean energy programs has unplugged the Energy Department’s loan program for clean energy vehicle development. Five years after it was started by Congress under President Bush, it has only given out $8.4 billion of an authorized $25 billion and none since last year’s bankruptcy of the federally-aided Solyndra solar panel company.
