Chinatown should get housing

Chinatown has been waiting three decades for a promised affordable housing development at 50 Herald Street to break ground. It’s time for the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, which controls the property on behalf of the neighborhood, to make good on its obligations. At the time, the idea was for the association to develop the land into much-needed affordable housing - or at least use rental revenue to support other affordable housing projects. Instead, the group is using the money to support itself.
