Microsoft has had its struggles too — cut government some slack

There seem to be a lot of complaints about the software problems involved with the website for coverage under the Affordable Care Act. The fact that so many folks wanted to register the first day was part of the problem. Some say it wasn’t debugged sufficiently.

Microsoft’s Windows 8 system was tested extensively, with a beta version released to clear up any problems. With all that, Windows 8 still has numerous problems. That’s why we now have Windows 8.1.

If a company that specializes in software has problems in rolling out a new product, even with extensive pretesting, why should we think the federal government could do any better?

Let’s cut some slack here. Folks have until Dec. 15 to sign up.
