The response of gun owners to the inquiry on how to enforce the firearm law in Swampscott might be viewed differently if the population to be investigated were different (“Query about gun law turns into fighting words,” Letters, Nov. 19).
No one would defend child pornography, but I would expect many would object to a house-to-house search of home computers looking for violations because the residents own a computer.
I think many gun owners think that the gun storage laws are reasonable. I don’t know anyone who thinks home searches without probable cause are good.
