What would the reaction be if people stood outside Massachusetts General Hospital and counseled patients not to have the heart surgery they had scheduled for that day? Let’s say these people have no medical training, and don’t know anything about the patients’ condition or state of mind; they simply do not believe that heart surgery is a good idea. They would either be laughed at or hauled away as a nuisance.
This is what antiabortion protesters are doing outside of reproductive health facilities.
The idea that the buffer zone may be eliminated after a Supreme Court ruling is ludicrous to me. The protesters should be thankful that it is only 35 feet.
