Could be worse — you could live in California

I think that Shirley Leung should try living in another state before complaining about our 6.25 percent sales tax rate, and seeking a rollback to 5 percent.

I recently moved back to Massachusetts after living in Pasadena, Calif., for three years. The sales tax there is 9 percent, including clothing, which is exempt here in Massachusetts.

If the extra 1.25 percentage points bring in $1 billion in extra revenue, it’s well worth it.
