He could have used pistol when he was attacked out of state

SENATOR BROWN is ill advised in his opposition to the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act (“Brown opposes NRA weapons bill,’’ Metro, Nov. 9). I am a holder of a Massachusetts firearms dealers license, a Massachusetts license to carry, and a federal firearms license. I spent part of my life with a rifle in my hands, protecting Europe from the Russians. Yet Brown wants to prohibit me from legally carrying a pistol to another state for my own protection.

I sure could have used my pistol when I was jumped and stabbed outside a motel in Virginia on my way to Florida, and lost about a half pint of blood. I should have told the guy who jumped me that it’s against the law to rob and try to kill someone. I guess it was my fault for having gray hair.

Liberals will vote against Brown anyway. As for the gun owners’ vote, I think Brown did shoot himself in the foot.
