This is no time for a gas tax

NOW IS not the time to add one cent to the gas tax for any reason or purpose. With gas prices seemingly stuck above $3 a gallon, and the area still in the grips of a recession, a gas tax would be the ultimate kick in the teeth to Massachusetts residents. It would also remove all doubt as to how out of touch the Beacon Hill crowd is.

Transportation debt is significant in this state, but reducing it cannot be placed on the backs of citizens. Revenue must be generated in another way.
