For 2012, all eyes should be on Senate, not White House

MY FELLOW Republicans, don’t let the choice of candidates for president discourage you. People are watching the wrong race. The Democrats hold a 53-47 advantage in the Senate. Among 33 contested seats, there are 23 Democrats (including two independents) up for reelection next year. Assuming Scott Brown holds his seat in Massachusetts and the other Republican incumbents hold theirs, we need three to tie, four to win a majority in the chamber. The odds are in our favor. If President Obama wins reelection, we would block him all the way to 2016.
