OVER THE last few days I have been heartened by the efforts of my grandchildren’s school to make the Super Bowl a family event - only to have my spirits shattered by the disgusting nature of some of the ads that flourished during the game.
First we have delightful, picturesque polar bears promoting a sugary drink, and then we have guns and desolate scenes of violence. What are the advertisers and NBC thinking?
My grandchildren were given a special dispensation to stay up to watch the game. Is this what they will remember? I hope not.
