Conversions are disrespectful to Jews

RE “MORMON ritual is no threat to Jews,’’ (Op-ed, Feb. 29): While Jeff Jacoby is correct that posthumous Mormon baptisms are no threat to Jews, it is an act that points to divine exclusion and utter disrespect for Jews’ own traditions surrounding death. Baptism by proxy suggests the Mormon view of heaven is one with no Jews, who I presume are either in hell or purgatory, awaiting the opportunity to accept the generous offer of salvation - post-conversion.
