A novel for a novel game

RE KEVIN Paul Dupont’s article, “Having a ball in Strat-O sphere’’ (Sports, March 4): count me among the legion of 10-year olds who rushed home from school to the Strat-O-Matic board. I kept my game stats in a three-ring binder, one binder for every season.

But what article about the game would be complete without noting Robert Coover’s ode to Strat-O-Matic, the 1968 novel “The Universal Baseball Association, Inc., J. Henry Waugh, Prop.’’ - also known as Strat-O-Matic goes Twilight Zone.
