From ‘50s to today, denial remains our guiding principle

Rudy Termini writes: Who can deny that, as James Carroll writes, “denial is the order of the day”? We obliviously continue to conduct wars that are unnecessary. We denounce deficits, but refuse to increase tax revenues to pay for them. We block reforms of the banks and Wall Street that are needed to prevent another economic collapse, and on and on it goes.
