For many, fair accounting of ’86 World Series still eludes

Dave Ostrow writes: Even if Bill Buckner had fielded the ground ball to force an 11th inning, the Mets had pulled a Lazarus and had the momentum. A quarter of a century later, it still makes an interesting story that Buckner lost us the World Series. But that is not fair or accurate.

I agree completely with Dave Ostrow editorial. it seems like 90% of red sox nation thinks that if Buckner made the out at first we would have won the game when in actuality it only would have ended the inning. The game was tied at that time. The error lost the game but if he made the out it would not have won the game.
