Let’s finally give Jeff Jacoby his wish (“Peace process harmed Israel’s reputation,” May 23, 2012) and “jettison the policy that caused [Israel] such harm,” all to restore Israel’s “reputation.” But what would Jacoby then foresee happening? How will the real existential problem — that of demographics and the increasing Arab population — be managed? What rights will they have — and demand — to vote in Israeli elections?
How is the two-state solution to be avoided? Will Israel be dragged kicking and screaming to the inevitable, or will it shed its status as so-called victim and lead the way?
