letters | should voters have to show a photo id?

So the GOP believes in regulation, after all

IN THE Globe editorial about Republican efforts to impose voter ID laws, the Pennsylvania House majority leader is quoted boasting that the state’s new voter ID law “is going to allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania” (“A brief moment of candor,” Editorial, July 9).

I find it interesting that the Republican Party is philosophically opposed to regulating businesses in which a proven problem exists, yet aggressively pushes for regulation of voting when the problem of voter fraud has been proven rare and inconsequential.
