We should be taking aim at guns

Thursday’s front-page story “House passes crime bill” is depressing. The three-strikes law is not going to deter lethal crime where it already exists, as 17 states have found. Meanwhile, there is nothing in Massachusetts’ bill to stop deadly crime, and nothing is being done to curb unnecessary or illegal gun ownership.

When is the politically cowardly Legislature going to do something about this, and, in every lethal case, find out where gun came from?
