letters | GOVERNOR SIGNS CRIME BILL

Someone must draw line on habitual violent offenders

It’s frustrating that the governor wants to water down the crime bill he just signed (“Patrick to sign crime bill, calls it imperfect,” Page A1, Aug. 1). Anyone can see that soft-headed judges are the weakest link in our deeply flawed criminal justice system. After all, they are largely responsible for the release of these habitual violent offenders, which inspired this law in the first place.
